Here We Go Again

My little yard sale buddy and I were at it again this morning. We didn't find much today, but picked up a few cheap things. Baby Jaws found some toys because clearly, we don't have enough of them already.

A Peterbilt truck with trailer for only 25¢. Hubs said he's seen these at a local store for $15 so we got a great deal.
Tonka motorized crane to add to our crane fleet for only 50¢.
I found Big Brother a pair of Arizona Jean Co. jean shorts for $2.
A pair of Vigoss jeans for Little Miss Priss for only 25¢.

Wow

You just have to read the post Butterfly Catcher at Steph Won.

Yard Sale Fun

After Hubs and Big Brother left this morning for work and school, Baby Jaws and I loaded up to go hit some yard sales.

I just loved this print and it was only 25¢. When I got home, I Googled the name in the corner, Anton Pieck. He was a Dutch painter and artist born in 1895. I looked at quite a few of his prints online today. I enjoyed reading about his life and works.
I also bought a Ball Mason Jar that I need to clean the sticker off of. And I really like this blue bowl.
These were too cute! An Eggo Model T and Raisin Bran Model A. I got both for $1. I thought these would be cute in Hub's office since he restores Model A's.
I'm not a basket person, but I loved this one. I may put it in the kitchen or maybe even the bathroom.
This was my favorite! I saw this box and just had to have it. I don't know what it was about it, but I love it!
I'm going to clean it up and am not sure if I'll do anything to it or just leave it as is. When Hubs saw it, he said it looked like an old ammo box. I told him I don't care what it is, I just think it's cute.
At another yard sale, I found some great clothes for Little Miss Priss. I got all of the clothes below and a few toys thrown in for only $5. Sweet!

Bobby Jack fleece pants that say, "Lalala" on the leg.

A couple of cute t-shirts.
Abercrombie hoodie.
Abercrombie jeans.
Five pieces of clothing for only $1 each. Yeah, I was happy!

Cute File Folders

I'm on a big organizing kick, which is a good thing since my house is a mess. I found an idea for making decorative file folders at Elegant Crafts and Homemade Gifts. I thought this was a cute idea since we have so many papers coming into the house that we need to keep, at least for awhile.

I dug through all my scrapbook paper and found a cute piece of kids going to school. I totally cheated and didn't cover the entire file folder. Who's going to care about the inside anyway? I don't.
Here is my finished product that I've already began filling with Big Brother's important school papers like his schedule and teacher contact info. I'm going to be making more for other important papers. Now I'm on a mission to find a cute file box to hang on the wall in my kitchen, which I'm planning on painting next week.

What Did You Do At School Today

Big Brother came running off the school bus again today with a big smile on his face. This has been a daily occurrence since the first day of school. Everyday I ask him what he did at school that day. Though he's only in kindergarten, most days I already get the standard, "I don't know."

But today he was very excited to tell me, "I pooped at school and wiped my own butt!"

I laughed and joked, "Did you stink it up?"

He laughed and said, "Yeah, it was a big turd." Then in a more serious voice, "But I didn't say that at school."

Kindergarten

Today was Big Brother's first day of kindergarten. He met his teacher Monday night and got to visit his classroom. So this morning, he was excited and ready to go. I, on the other hand, was not so ready. Don't get me wrong, I am excited for him and am so glad he loves school, but it makes me sad how fast he is growing up right before my eyes. It seems like only yesterday he was just learning to walk.

I packed his lunch, set out his backpack and rest mat and he was off. I took pictures of him before we left school, on the way to school and even more when we got there. When we got to his classroom, I took a picture of him with his teacher and he was pretty much done. He was ready to get to work. He walked to his table, sat down and started coloring the picture at his seat. I took a few more pictures and finally let him be the big boy that he now is. He was ready for me to leave so he could do his own thing. I was happy as I left seeing how happy he was. I thought to myself, I'm not going to cry this time. But by the time I got to the truck, I was crying because my little boy isn't so little anymore. When did he get big enough to go to kindergarten?

I just knew he would have a fun day. He had been looking forward to riding the school bus home and was all smiles as he stepped off. He loves kindergarten and I love my kindergartener.

Cucumber Salsa

We made this cucumber salsa for dinner tonight to go along with our turkey tacos. I found the recipe at Food.com, formerly Recipe Zaar. We have so many cucumbers and tomatoes that I've really had to get creative lately. This is our salsa in the picture below. Ours is rather chunky because that's how we like it. It was really good and went well with our dinner.

I Don't Want to Know

I found a spoon in Baby Jaw's potty. Like I said, I don't want to know.
